A Contribution from the Great War Society Southern California Chapter

Honoring ANZAC Day, 2002
Seminar and Memorial Service

Event Coordinator Susan Neeson and Chapter Chairmann Chris Michealis are to be congratulated for their effort to honor the veterans of World War I's Gallipoli Campaign. On April 20, 2002 the Chapter conducted a day long seminar at the Santa Monica Museum of Flying. Moderated by GWS Membership Chairman Mike Hanlon, the day-long event featured presentations by Keith Schoose, Jeff Grover, Susan Neeson and Josh Henniger; an Eleventh Hour Cermony; as well as music, PowerPoint Slide Shows and the 1980 film Gallipoli.

On ANZAC Day itself, Susan Neeson as representative of the Great War Society presented a memorial wreath at a ceremony organized by the Australian and New Zealand consulates at the Los Angeles National Military Cemetery. A representative of the Turkish government also participated in the event.
