4. Driven south after the Battle of Caporetto, the Italian Army was able to regroup and form a defenive line along the Piave River. In June 1918, the Austro-Hungarian Army would mount their last offensive of the Great War and fail. In October it would be the launch pad for the Allies Vittorio Veneto victory.
